In art class, we began the school year with some activities that exercised the students’ creative problem solving skills. We spent the last few weeks working on an illustration project inspired by illustrator/designer Kate Bingaman-Burt, where students illustrated a collection of personal objects to tell a story about themselves. They digitized their drawings and learned some new Photoshop skills. This week, we began an observational drawing unit focusing on figure drawing. The students are learning how to use a variety of drawing materials and using a model as their subject.
